Story:
It was Valentine's Day and my boyfriend at the time, Jeff was best man in a wedding. During the reception he had the DJ invite me up to the floor for a special announcement. When I got up there Jeff grabbed the microphone and got down on one knee with a ring. He then asked me to marry him. After I said yes, and everyone in the reception hall was cheering we danced to our song. It was very romantic! The ring was 3 sizes too big, but I managed to keep it on my finger for the dance, videos and pictures!!

Story:
It was an actual surprise! He did it after we made dinner and were having a glass of wine. It seemed like a regular night. That is when he came up behind me and put the ring in my lap and asked me to marry him! What can I say. I would not have had it any other way.

Story:
We held our reception at Ritz Charles in Carmel. We were fortunate to have so many of our friends and family with us. Most guest were in their 20's, older crowd was 60's and above....but it didn't matter...everyone was having a blast dancing. Gregg and I met through Purdue Musical Organization, therefore we had quite a few Glee Club, Purduette, Chorale Club, and University Choir members in attendance. Lots of siging and dancing. The DJ was having so much fun, he stayed an extra couple of hours for free! Ritz Charles finally had to ask our entire group to leave...we were way beyond their closing hour! People still talk about how fun our reception was...22 years later!

Story:
It was time to cut the cake after dinner. Jim and I cautiously put the cake up to each other's mouth and instinctively we both pushed the cake into each other's face. We had cake every where. Then Jim blew frosting out of his nose in a 'farmer's blow'. After 18 years, our guests still talk about the frosting blow.

Story:
I have been married for sixteen years, however my engagement day still seems like it was yesterday. My husband is the big burly football type, however, on that day he was a huge romantic. The day started with a picnic in Brown County State Park This was special as his best childhood memories were from this park. It was a beautiful fall day where the leaves where changing color, the air was warm and the sky was blue. We sat on a vista an ate our lunch with champagne. On each champagne glass my husband placed a strawberry. In my strawberry was my engagement ring. When I bit into the strawberry his eyes got wide as he worried that I would swollow the fruits of his labor. I however, saw the gleaming gold band. He then, of course, popped the question. Very romantic

Story:
My husband proposed to me at my favorite place, Lake Wawasee, on my favorite holiday, the 4th of July. Out of the blue after dinner, he had my dad gather the entire family - all eighteen of them! - on the front porch of my family's lakehouse. I thought my dad was going to give the family a talk, but then my husband started to speak. It didn't even hit me where it was going at first, but when it did, I could not have imagined a more perfect proposal. Given that my family was there and that he proposed with the ring his great grandfather had given his great grandmother, the whole night focused on family, which is the most important thing to us. I am grateful my husband gave me the opportunity to share the moment and our celebration with the people I love most.

Story:
My boyfriend, Dan, and I decided to take a vacation in early January to Florida. We had both been very busy for the holidays between parties and celebrating with both of our families. Work had also been pretty stressful for the both of us and we wanted to take a break from it all, relax. Dan and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in early December. We had talked about getting married but I waited patiently for him to decide when the time was right. When we arrived in Florida, Dan was very excited to walk down to the beach for sunset then dinner. I was ready to go but I had to wait on Dan to get ready. Imagine that, the girl had to wait on the guy to get ready! He had the bedroom door closed, which was odd in itself but I thought nothing of it. We finally started walking, and walking, and walking with no access to the beach. It was getting dark so we called our adventure quits for the day. The next day Dan made the same suggestion but with one difference, we would drive this time! He suggested I bring my camera for some great sunset photo opportunities. We walked on the beach for a while, pausing here and there for beautiful scenic photos. On our way back, Dan found something incredible that he said I had to get a picture of. I couldn't see what he was reaching for in the sand so I waited, excitedly as he knelt down to show me. As he turned around, on one knee, he held up the opened ring box with a diamond engagement ring! He had told me nervously that I had made him the happiest man in the world and then asked if I would continue to make him happy by being his bride. With tears in my eyes and the sun setting over the ocean, I said "Of course I will marry you"! My hand was shaking as he put the ring on my finger. The moment couldn't have been more perfect! We found a small family on the beach and asked them to take a picture of us re-enacting the proposal. We have that moment to literally look back on forever! I can't wait to start my life married to my best friend!
